Mediterranean Penthouse. Cabo de Palos, Spain
This penthouse is a little jewel in a lovely corner of the Mediterranean Sea. From the house, you have stunning 220-degree views of the sea, beautiful surrounding beaches, the impressive late 19th-century lighthouse, and a few scattered islands on the horizon.
This penthouse is a little jewel in a lovely corner of the Mediterranean Sea. The views from here are mind-blowing in whichever direction you look. From the house, you have stunning 220-degree views of the sea, beautiful surrounding beaches, the impressive late 19th-century lighthouse, and a few scattered islands on the horizon.
The brief was very clear from the outset with the Client wishing to refurbish this unique penthouse to maximise views, open up the internal spaces towards the external terrace where they spend most of their time and frame the lighthouse from inside wherever possible.
We came up with a completely new distribution of spaces, proposing to re-orient the living room and combine the kitchen, dining, and living in an L-shaped open plan. This allowed us to take full advantage of the superb views, with repositioning of some windows to create openings towards the north and eastern terraces. Toilets have been carefully crafted to frame views towards the lighthouse with a play of different materials. The more we look at it, the more we feel like we're in a boat sailing north. A little jewel with a strong Mediterranean character.
